Starting with a discussion of the framework of our dual income tax system in the United States, the book is written for the ordinary taxpayer who has been scared by politicians and the media into thinking the alternative minimum tax system is the “Darth Vader” of taxes and should be avoided at all costs.
The book lays out the argument for the alternative minimum tax as the simpler and fairer of the two tax systems in our country and explains how, with some tweaking by Congress, the AMT can be adopted with the public applauding Congress’s bold initiative.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kirk A. Bonamici, CPA, MST, has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College) and a Masters of Science in Taxation from Seton Hall University. Licensed as a certified public accountant in New Jersey since 1986, he is the managing partner of Bonamici, Colletti, P.C., CPAs, in Spotswood, New Jersey. In addition, Kirk is a fellow in the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and the National Society of Accountants.
Kirk and his wife, Laura, live in Monroe Township, New Jersey, with their daughters, Melissa and Megan, and their sheltie, Yogi.
