When the teeny dragon meets Daisey, a six-legged frog, she is able to coax him out of feeling bad for himself and about his differences. She shows him that everyone is different from one another, and she teaches him that he should be proud of who he really is.
Best Friends is a fun story that teaches children to focus on who they are, not on what they look like. The strength Hunter shows in saving his friend also shows children to be strong and courageous.

Rita Silver lives in Michigan with her husband Richard. She has three grown children and seven grandchildren. She likes to travel and spend time with her family. Her grandchildren were the inspiration for writing Best Friends. Rita has always liked telling them stories, and they especially enjoy the story of Hunter and Daisey.
