by Albina Caffrey-Kira
All five stories in this collection called The Bear Who Loves Apples were written with children in mind who are four years of age and older. This book is an excellent one for parents and adults to read to children. All of the stories include themes such as love, tenderness, friendship, and loving care for each other.
Vasile and the Moose is reality-based, for the incident happened in Siberia, Russia. The Dolphin and the Mermaid is a great fantasy adventure about the friendship between dolphins, children, and a mermaid.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I was born in Archangel, Northern Russia. There, I spent my youth, and amazing people and the beauty of nature inspired me to write poetry and a few novels.
My marriage, my work, and rearing children delayed my favorite hobby—writing. During my youth, children looked at me curiously and with interest, and even more so today. They send me kisses, want to talk to me, and want me to pay attention to them. Thus, I developed a great feeling that I should write for them.
I have two children and three grandchildren. I have written a few children’s stories of Northern Russia and Ukraine, and also poetry and stories of legends. I have also written fiction and fantasy for teenagers, including one novel of more than two hundred pages. I’ve had one children’s book and one novel published in Ukraine. Now, I’m contracted for publishing with Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc., and Trafford, a Canadian-English company.
