Mariel and the Cookie shares the story of a little girl who always seems to know how to get her way—except this time she is not so sure she can win the battle! When pouting and looking sad don’t do the trick, Mariel waits until no one is looking and Mom seems far enough away. Then she climbs a chair to get the cookie she was denied.
Never anticipating any consequences, little Mariel fearlessly reaches for the jar and, of course, miscalculates the distance between her and the delicious cookies. She falls from the chair, and the racket causes Mom to rush into the kitchen, where she finds Mariel crying and embarrassed to be caught.
Mariel and the Cookie ends happily with Mariel admitting her mistake and learning that her forgiving mother does know best.
